Jesus is coming again, and He wants to take you to a fantastic place: heaven!
Before He left earth to return to heaven after His resurrection, Jesus made this promise to his followers: “Do not let your hearts be troubled, Trust in God, trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am” (John 14:1-3).*
Where is this “place”? In heaven!
Just like Keisha in “Paradise and a Promise,” God’s people, called a “bride” in the Bible, will be ready and waiting: “Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready” (Revelation 19:7).
When will all this happen? While Bible prophecies such as those found in the book of Daniel give us a general idea, we are not to be focused on an exact date for Jesus’ return. Jesus said, “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority” (Acts 1:7).
The important thing to know is what two angels told those who actually saw Jesus go to heaven the first time. They said, “This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven” (Acts 1:11).
What will heaven be like? We can’t know for sure, but the Bible whets our appetite with these words: “He [God] will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away” (Revelation 22:4).
